After another disappointing end to the NBA season, after the Atlanta Hawks were defeated by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs, a lot of rumors began to swirl about the team’s intentions with superstar guard Trey Young.
Although no one doubts Young’s talent, as he is one of the most talented backcourt players the league has seen over the years, it is debatable whether he is a winner and whether he is a good enough teammate.
Fortunately for Young, the Hawks have been adamant about not trading or even considering trading Young, but the rumors are still rife, as it might not be out of the realm of possibility that he could be dealt next summer if the team doesn’t live up to expectations during the 2023-24 campaign.
Meanwhile, Young is enjoying life during the NBA offseason, as he recently married longtime girlfriend Shelby Miller and couldn’t contain his excitement about what the future holds as he tweeted the following.
“Life is good.. know what I mean?”🤷🏽♂️🤍

Only time will tell if the Hawks will finally be able to live up to the expectations Young has for years to come, as Atlanta hasn’t shown much year-over-year progress since bringing on the superstar in 2018.
The real question is whether Dejonte Murray and Young can stick together in Atlanta and whether that dynamic duo is really good enough to compete with the best in the Eastern Conference.
If these two continue to struggle to propel the Hawks to the next level, it will be interesting to see what the team decides to do.
