We wanted to take into account how real shoppers feel about swimsuit shopping when choosing a style. When pop sugar joined with Shape In a survey of nearly 4,000 women, only 2% said they feel great in a swimsuit because of the pressure to have the perfect “bikini body.” Additionally, only 4% of people will spend more than $175 on a bathing suit, so we wanted to find mostly more affordable styles.
Seeing these results, and knowing our own experiences, we wanted to choose swimsuits with enough coverage so people could wear them without worrying about insecurities or reservations. We looked for styles that covered most of the buttocks, and there were some styles that reached as far as the thighs. We also wanted styles that stand out because of their stylish designs, because the cuter the swimsuit, the better you’ll feel wearing it!
