Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift really have been friends forever. On April 2, Gomez posted a photo and video to her Instagram from Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Arlington, TX on Saturday. The “Only Murders in the Building” star attended the concert with her 9-year-old sister Gracie Elliot Teefey and stepfather Brian Teefey.
In the photo, Gracie can be seen making a heart with her hands while Swift is performing on stage. The next slide on Gomez’s post is a video showing the sisters dancing as the pop star sings “Fragile.” She captioned the picture and video, “Thank you for bringing me and my sister into your mysterious, exciting and special world. Proud to have known you! Love you always and forever.”
Both Gomez and Gracie came to Swift’s concert dressed to impress. The “Calm Down” singer wore a white cardigan over a white dress to represent her friend’s “folklore” era. Meanwhile, Gracie was dressed in a purple gown that featured “Speak Now”.
Video captured by fans The concert also revealed a sweet moment when Swift gave Gracie her hat in exchange for a friendship bracelet. The special moment was not only a beautiful nod to Swift and Gomez’s friendship, but it also revealed that even though the “Lover” singer is her older sister’s best friend, Gracie is still a true Swiftie.
Watching Swift interact with Gracie is extra adorable when you remember that she and Gomez have been friends since before the youngster was born. The longtime friends first linked up back in 2008 when they were both dating a Jonas brother. Their friendship has only gone from strength to strength ever since. In fact, Gomez called Swift her “only friend in the industry” in a 2022 Rolling Stone interview.
In 2020, both Swift and Gomez spoke about their friendship in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Swift said of their friendship, “There’s always been this quality of brotherhood, and I don’t say it in a basic way.” “I knew when I met him, I would always get back to him.”
Gomez’s post is just one example of how the sentiment is clearly mutual.
