OK, so — Rosamund Pike is starring in 10-part BBC audio drama People who knew me
The series clearly takes a sarcastic jab or two at Goop, the wellness company founded by Gwyneth Paltrow.
During a recent interview with the Guardian, Rosamund was asked about the series’ jokes about Goop and how she felt about the “wellness” concept in general.
His response was very direct and genuine. “I think we are all connected to the wellness industry,” she said.
“The idea that it’s no longer enough to be healthy and we have to be ‘cured’ is something that needs to be interrogated,” she continued. “Yet it’s also very seductive because it’s in pursuit of things that people are ashamed of, such as youth, beauty and fitness.”
Rosamond said, “#MeToo gave women an opportunity to escape some of the demands placed on them. Now, in a way, people are coming back to being controlled voluntarily, but in a different guise, by these welfare claims.” “
She said, “It has politicized our food, politicized our exercise, and I think that’s really dangerous.”
I mean, it’s real. But will Gwyneth respond? We will see!
