Rob Lowe celebrates 33 years of sobriety with shirtless ocean selfie

Commemoration of a major milestone. Rob Lowe Celebrated 33 years of sobriety by sharing an inspirational message with fans.

“33 years ago today I found recovery and a tribe that has sustained me on my incredible, grateful journey,” 59-year-old parks and Recreation the alum captioned a shirtless photo of him taking a sunset swim in the ocean on Wednesday, May 10, via Instagram. “My life is full of love, family, God, opportunity, friends, work, dogs, and fun.”

He shared words of encouragement for those “struggling with any type of addiction,” writing, “Hope and happiness are waiting if you seek it, and are willing to work for it!”

Rob’s sobriety anniversary comes a month after he presented John – with whom he stars in the Netflix comedy Unstable — with a five-year sobriety chip on an episode of the drew barrymore show, “I love you. Proud of you,” she said before hugging her son.

The emotional moment left John “speechless” as he quipped, “I usually give a witty retort. I don’t have one for her. That was very nice of you.”
