Rita Ora is not only known for her powerful vocals, but she is also known for her fashion sense.
On top of releasing hit singles and taking on acting roles and a host of gigs, she’s made her presence felt on the red carpet over the years.
From sultry to trendy and avant-garde, Rita has never shied away from being bold when it comes to curating her fashion looks.
Unfortunately, taking a risk in the public eye also means dealing with public criticism.
In an interview with Glamour, when asked about the inequality of being a woman in the public eye, Rita shared her thoughts. “‘Do you have the whole day?'” he replied. “I’ve had it my whole career: people saying what I wear, ‘Is that too naked?’ or, ‘Can she say such things?’
“I find it very wrong,” Rita replied.
She added, “Whoever tosses outside the line is going to get it,” and added that she looks up to the likes of J.Lo and Madonna, who’ve had to deal with the same chatter and criticism. He J.J. praised Lo’s ability to ignore the “noise” and Madonna’s ability to live by her own beliefs.
Thanks to these icons, especially Madonna, Rita shared that she appreciates Material Girl for showing her the ability to be more “courageous”. She said, “I’m not perfect, but I think that’s what entertains my fans the most.”
(And of course it’s the iconic look. 🤣 👑)
