Last month, superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers made it known that he fully intended to play in a New York Jets uniform next season, ending all speculation about whether he would retire and, if not, play. If so, where will he play? ,
Although it’s been nearly a month since Rodgers made the long-awaited announcement, the Jets and Green Bay Packers have yet to agree on the terms of a blockbuster trade that would send the four-time NFL MVP to the Big Apple.
There’s been a lot of speculation about what the hold-up is in these trade talks, with the general consensus being that the Jets are the tougher party, but according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky via Eli Berkowitz, the Packers aren’t budging from their trade. Demand.

This is a somewhat unusual situation when it comes to trades in the NFL, usually when a player demands a trade to a team, the deal is done as soon as possible, but Green Bay isn’t messing around. And they want what they want for their superstar quarterback.
Despite the hold-up in trade talks, it seems like a foregone conclusion that Rodgers will be under center in New York.
The real question going forward is when the deal will happen, as it would make sense before the 2023 NFL Draft if this year’s draft is to be involved in a blockbuster deal.
Only a few weeks are left until the first day of the draft on April 27, and it will be interesting to see whether these two teams can get it done before that date.
