As the Buffalo Bills hold their off-season minicamp, there was one noticeable absence on Tuesday.
Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs was gone before the team took the field on Tuesday, and there are rumors he’s unhappy about something.
Could this be an issue with a teammate, or possibly something to do with his contract?
Insider Field Yates noted that Diggs signed a very generous contract extension last off-season that is one of the largest contracts ever given to a wideout.
In most cases of a player missing mandatory minicamp, the motivation is financially driven. Stefon Diggs signed a 4-year, $96 million extension just last season, putting him in line with the top-paid recipients.
Attractive position to keep an eye on in Buffalo.

Diggs is central to the Bills’ hopes of winning their first Super Bowl, as he is one of the NFL’s best players at his position.
He put up 1,429 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022, earning him his third straight Pro Bowl nod, and he posted more than 1,200 receiving yards in each of the past three seasons.
Needless to say, if this Diggs saga isn’t resolved soon, the Bills will be in a lot of trouble once the new season starts.
They were picked by many to win the Super Bowl at the start of last season, but despite going 13–3 in the regular season, they lost 27–10 to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round.
The loss came a year after their heartbreaking blowout to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime of the Divisional Round.
Although most of Buffalo’s core is still intact, they have added linebacker Leonard Floyd, who won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams just a year earlier, and they drafted tight end Dalton Kincaid, who has a lot of potential. .
If they sort out the Diggs situation, they could end up with their first Vince Lombardi Trophy next February.
