The Baltimore Ravens have had a strange off season so far.

Once they decided to put the non-exclusive franchise tag on quarterback Lamar Jackson, there was a strong chance he could leave.

He has not yet entered contract negotiations with any team, but Jackson requested a trade to Baltimore.

Still, with the Ravens’ most recent signing, it looks as though Jackson will be returning.

Baltimore agreed to a one-year, $15 million deal with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

You would think that Beckham would only accept that deal if he was going to play with Jackson.

However Peter Schrager stated on The Pat McAfee Show that: “Everyone thought Odell’s signing was the green light to complete the Lamar Jackson deal, but it’s not done yet.”

The Ravens went out and found another elite playmaker with the hopes that it would please Jackson.

But, Jackson still wants to reset the quarterback market.

Deshaun Watson is looking for something bigger than what he got, and may not sign until he gets an offer closer to him.

Jackson is a former league MVP, and he’s still only 26 years old.

It is rare for a player of his potential to ever hit free agency, and he may be in contract discussions with other teams when he is not a free agent.

If the Ravens are smart they will quickly try and resolve the contract issues with their franchise quarterback.
