The Phoenix Suns-Chris Paul saga appears to be just getting started, when the team could reportedly waive the veteran point guard.

Paul landed in Phoenix from the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2020, becoming a vital piece for the Suns.

After the 2022–23 season ended with the team being eliminated in the second round of the NBA Playoffs, several rumors surfaced regarding Paul’s future.

The Suns were reportedly ready to move him via trade, but now the situation has changed.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, there are four teams that would make a lot of sense for Paul in the free market.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are in a similar position right now as their starting point guards prepare to become free agents.

D’Angelo Russell and Russell Westbrook did good jobs with these franchises, but different reasons could have led them to leave.

For the New York Knicks, they may benefit from the presence of a veteran like Paul.

They have a very good team led by Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle, but it seemed like they missed a piece during the 2023 playoffs.

Adding Paul could take them to the next level in the Eastern Conference.

For the Golden State Warriors, it would be shocking if they land Paul.

Sure, Stephen Curry can play with the ball and give Paul the responsibility to lead the team, but it seems unnecessary right now.

The Warriors have other issues to address and fix and adding a point guard with Paul’s qualities is not one of them.

It could be a very interesting race but we will have to sit and wait to see what lies ahead for Paul and which team will acquire his services.
