Over the years, Matt Damon has starred in and produced several acclaimed films.
In 20201, the 52-year-old actor starred in final duel And Still water – which he also co-wrote and produced with Ben Affleck.
The following year, Matt made a cameo Thor: Love and ThunderAnd in 2023, he appeared in and produced the popular sports drama Air,
And so, it’s no secret that Matt has been extremely busy lately in terms of his acting career.
Well, it turns out that Matt’s busy schedule is something that has come between him and his wife, Luciana Barroso.
Matt and Luciana have been married for almost two decades now, having been married in 2005. The couple are parents to four daughters: Alexia, Isabella, Gia, and Stella.
This week, Matt revealed he told Luciana he would be taking a break from acting before being offered his latest role, which is in a Christopher Nolan film. oppenheimer,
Matt plays General Leslie Groves in the historical drama-thriller, which releases later this week alongside stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt and Robert Downey Jr.
Sitting down with his co-stars on Monday to talk with Entertainment Weekly, Matt revealed that he “talked extensively” with Luciana about being able to work on it. oppenheimer Bhumika considering that he had earlier told her that he was taking a break from acting.
Noting that he was approached by director Christopher himself, Matt—who previously appeared in Christopher’s 2014 film interstellar — clarified that although he initially told Luciana he was taking a break from acting, he had one “warning” “in case Chris Nolan calls.”
“It’s going to sound fabricated, but it’s actually true,” he told Cillian, Emily, Robert, and Christopher. “I discussed – without getting too personal – with my wife at length that I was taking time off.”
“I was in interstellarAnd then Chris put me on the ice for a few movies so I wasn’t in the rotation, but I actually interacted in couple’s therapy – this is a true story – a reminder for me to take the time was whether Chris Nolan called,” Matt revealed.
He added, “It’s without knowing whether he was working on something or not because he never tells you… he just calls you out of the blue.”
With all this in mind, it probably comes as no surprise that Matt describes the moment Christopher called him oppenheimer as “a moment” in his and Luciana’s house.
Echoing Matt’s comments about Christopher’s sudden way of casting actors for his films, Cillian – who plays Oppenheimer’s lead character in the film – revealed that he had to audition for the role before the director called. There was “no information” about
“Chris’s modus operandi is to call you out of the blue,” says Murphy. “I really had no idea. He said he was making a film about Oppenheimer and he said, ‘I’d like you to play Oppenheimer.’
“I had to sit down. It was kind of awesome,” he continued, adding that Christopher thought calling people out of the blue was “a fun way to do it.”
