As you probably already know, last week members of the Screen Actors Guild – the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists – joined the Writers Guild of America strike over labor disputes with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
Although there are a lot of factors behind strike, a big part of it is compensation. Especially, when it comes to streaming. Streaming platforms typically pay actors and writers less than broadcast or cable TV.

Well today, Mandy Moore revealed how little she makes in Hulu streaming residuals this is us – a series she starred in for six seasons on NBC, which was acquired by Hulu after its run.
During the sit-in today, Mandy spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and said she received “very small, like, 81-cent checks” for streaming residuals. However, her business manager told her that those checks were sometimes worth less than a penny.
Mandy continued, “The issue of survival is a huge issue.”
He continued, “We’re in an incredibly fortunate position as working artists who have worked on shows that have had tremendous success in one way or another…but years before us were in our position. Many artists were able to make a living or at least pay their bills with the leftover money.” ,
