The Washington Wizards are reportedly shopping Bradley Beal on the trade market just one year after offering him a very lucrative contract.

After several years of trying to build a competitive team around Beal, they may be entering a rebuilding process.

One of the players helping guard, Kristaps Porzingis, has been linked with the Portland Trail Blazers.

According to NBA Analysis Network’s Evan Massey, via NBA Central, the Blazers and Wizards discussed a swap involving Porzingis and the No. 3 overall pick.

This may sound like a good idea to some in the Trail Blazers organization, but after seeing how poorly Porzingis fared alongside Luka Doncic, the fit with Damian Lillard is questionable.

Last season he averaged a career-high 23.2 points per game, while also averaging 8.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 65 games.

The Blazers could see Porzingis as someone who could move the needle for them.

After a strong start with the New York Knicks, improving his numbers each season (14.3 PPG in 2015–16, 18.1 PPG in 2016–17, and 22.7 PPG in 2017–18), injuries began to take a toll on his career. done.

He missed the entire 2018–19 season with an ACL injury.

He is still a solid player and is only 27 years old, but his injury history should be a concern.

Portland should look for more options before settling on Porzingis.
