Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics has returned to the city that found him so successful.

And one former Celtics star is very proud of that.

Brown spoke to Dorchester after redesigning the local playground’s basketball court and told residents, “As long as I’m here, things like this will go on.”

Kevin Garnett was impressed by what he saw and tweeted to Brown, saying, “I love this little brother.”

Originally from Georgia, Brown has made a nice home for himself in Boston with his Celtics.

He averaged 17.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game during his 7 years with the team and helped them usher in a new, exciting era.

Because of this, he has been selected as an All-Star twice and has also helped the team reach the finals.

Giving back to the community is a sign that Brown is very happy in Boston and won’t be leaving anytime soon.

However, talks are currently on over his future with the team.

He is eligible for a supermax contract extension with the Celtics.

But even though that eligibility kicks in on July 1, no new deals have been announced.

Everyone seems to agree that the Celtics will likely extend Brown and they are just working out the details right now.

Some argue that the fact that they are in no rush to terminate this contract is evidence that the relationship between player and team is strong.

The Celtics are still figuring out a lot of things and could make a few more moves in free agency.

But they will do whatever it takes to keep the Browns.

It’s good for the team as well as the community of Boston.
