Superstar quarterback Russell Wilson made a name for himself in the NFL as the leader of the Seattle Seahawks, winning a Super Bowl title with him under center and head coach Pete Carroll.
Before the 2022 NFL season, Wilson was ready to move on and forced a trade to the Denver Broncos, and things didn’t go exactly as planned for the veteran quarterback with his new team.
Ironically, the Seahawks continued an incredible season with Geno Smith under center and made the playoffs that no one saw coming, with the general consensus being that Seattle was at the beginning of a rebuilding process.
For the Broncos, Wilson and company struggled throughout the season and failed to live up to expectations, resulting in missing the playoffs entirely and leaving many questioning whether the perennial Pro Bowler had passed his prime.
In 2023, the Seahawks have allowed someone else in Seattle to wear No. 3 on their jerseys, and Fox Sports’ Joey Taylor thinks there’s nothing wrong with that via Speak on FS1.

As Taylor makes abundantly clear, Wilson took control of his own destiny and forcefully left the Seahawks, so why should the team give him any respect at this point, considering he is now a rival and no other franchise playing for
The next season, cornerback Artie Burns would wear number 3, having worn number 21 in Seattle the previous season.
While this seems like a shot at Wilson, the team should move on, and maybe things will change when Wilson retires, but until then, Burns will be playing No. 3.
