The Los Angeles Dodgers enjoyed a special night Tuesday as left-hander and veteran ace Clayton Kershaw pitched seven scoreless innings and earned his 200th career win by defeating the New York Mets.

But Kershaw wasn’t the only one who had fun on Tuesday night.

New slugger JD Martinez, who signed with the team over the winter, went deep twice against the Mets, leading the way with four hits and four RBIs in five at-bats on the offensive side.

On Twitter, MLB posted a video of his second homer of the night, which made it a 3–0 game in the bottom of the third inning.

Martinez certainly had a night to remember.

While it may be lost the fact that Kershaw pitched a historic victory, it was just as important as the Dodgers defeating the Mets in a 5–0 final.

Martinez supplied most of the offense for the Dodgers on Tuesday night, driving in four runs and also helping the team to a three-game series against the vaunted Mets.

And he certainly hit the ball hard on Tuesday, as he managed to loft one to center field and another to right field.

Martinez hit three home runs to start the season and is hitting for a .271 average in his first 70 at bats with his new team.

He has also driven in 13 runs and has an OPS of .869.

After several seasons with the Boston Red Sox, Martinez joined the Dodgers on a one-year deal, which appears to have worked out fine for Los Angeles at the start of the season.
