Houston police charge suspect in rapper BTB Savage’s murder


Authorities in Houston, Texas have named a suspect in the violent death of BTB Savage. Also, the authorities are in the process of locating him to take him into custody.

HPD actively searching for Montreal’s Lennard Burley and another suspect

According to a news release, the Houston Police Department (HPD) has charged a 40-year-old man named Montreal Lenard Burley in the rapper’s death. However, he is not currently in custody, and authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in locating his whereabouts.

At least one other unidentified suspect is also wanted, as witnesses say Burley and a possible accomplice were seen fleeing the scene of a drive-by shooting that went down on March 30.

BTB Savage was shot after retaliatory social media posts

As The Shade Room previously reported, BTB Savage was killed after taunting his enemies online. The situation stemmed from a prior home invasion, as BTB Savage instructed his then-girlfriend to shoot the robber.

That wasn’t all, however, as he went on to take photographs while standing in a dried pool of the potential robber’s blood.

The rapper died a few hours after this upload.

In the wake of this sad news, BTB Savage’s mother – Bernita Ward – shared that she pleaded with her son to remove his upload and allow the outlaw’s family to “grieve in peace”.

However, he pointed out that BTB Savage had received several threats at the time from the dead man’s loved ones, suggesting that his post was retaliatory. Ward also noted, “Members of his family came to rob my son.”

“I said, ‘Get it off social media.’ I said, ‘Let this family grieve in peace.’ but they continued [to taunt] My Son. Telling him that they were going to kill the family, that they were going to make his mother cry like my son made his mother cry. And I told my son, ‘Don’t answer.’ But his family members had come to rob my son.”

There is no further update on the BTB Savage case at this time.
