The New York Yankees have started the season well.
Unfortunately, they still have a ways to go before they can catch the Tampa Bay Rays at the top of the American League East.
They are tied for second place with the Toronto Blue Jays with a 10–6 record and four games behind the Rays.
However, one Yankee in particular has gotten off to a very solid start.
Right-hander Gerrit Cole is yet to lose a game in his first four starts.
He won each of his first four starts and posted a 0.95 ERA.
On Twitter, MLB Network posted some statistics from Cole’s debut season.

Cole has also worked 28.1 innings.
He has allowed just 13 hits and has already struck out 32 batters.
Needless to say, Cole is off to a hot start in 2023 and is in the works for the Yankees.
Last season, the veteran right-hander won 13 games in 33 starts and posted an ERA of 3.50.
The 32-year-old is now in his fourth season with the Yankees after signing with the team ahead of the 2020 season.
And Cole’s hot start has been a major key for the Yankees, who are currently without Frankie Montas, Carlos Rawdon and Luis Severino.
On Sunday, he had an even better performance, pitching a two-hit shutout over the Minnesota Twins and striking out 10 batters to help the Yankees secure a series split.
The Bronx Bombers will open a three-game series at home against Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels as they look to regain ground in the AL East.
