The Minnesota Timberwolves had a very talented and promising young squad this season, but for the second year in a row, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

A report from Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus on Friday indicated the Timberwolves will probably make a bold move by trading star center Karl-Anthony Towns in the next few weeks.

Fans are dazed and shocked to say the least.

This fan questions the logic of putting Towns over Minnesota big man Rudy Gobert.

The Timberwolves traded heavily to acquire Gobert last summer, giving up four serviceable supplemental players and five future first-round draft picks.

Although Gobert is a very good rebounder and shot blocker, he is a very odd fit with Townes offensively, and many feel this was an extremely unwise trade for Minnesota, especially given what he .

Towns has been a pretty productive big man, averaging 20.8 points on 49.5 percent shooting, 8.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists this season, but there’s a feeling he might not be a winning player.

Trading him could mean practically giving the missing piece of the championship puzzle to another team.

On the other hand, it could allow Minnesota to regain some of the depth and trade capital they gave up in acquiring Gobert, which could help them improve in the long run.
