Sunday was a bitter sweet day for the Boston Red Sox.

They beat the Detroit Tigers in the final of their series, but lost outfielder Adam Duvall after this play:

Duvall had a wrist problem last year, and unfortunately broke it after trying to make that catch on Sunday.

The Red Sox have already confirmed the fracture.

Duvall was the Sox’ most popular hitter to start the year.

He had four home runs, 14 RBI, and a 1.544 OPS.

Still no word on how long he’ll miss, but he has a fracture.

He won’t be making a comeback anytime soon, and that’s bad news for the Red Sox.

Some on Twitter have resorted to humor as a defense mechanism to hide their disappointment.

Others mourned the injury in more serious tones.

The Red Sox are having a nightmare with injuries this season, and they haven’t even played 10 games.

They are already down to Duvall, Adalberto Mondesi, Trevor Story, Brian Bello, James Paxton, Jolley Rodriguez and other key players.

The season looks like a challenge for him.

However, it is too early to give up.

They have excellent players and one of the best managers in the game in Alex Cora.

Still, there are four teams in the AL East division that are as good as the Red Sox, some of them even better.

Let us see how the team can come back from the injury of one of its hottest players.

There are several sluggers on the roster, and all of them will need to step up now.
