With the 2023 NBA regular season set to end next week, the focus is about to shift to the NBA Playoffs and the upcoming NBA Draft Lottery.
Teams fighting for a title will have their sights set on making a deep playoff run, while teams that are struggling or rebuilding will hope that things turn in their favor in the lottery on May 16. .
The Victor Vembanayama Sweepstakes has been well underway for some time now, with teams trying to position themselves in the draft to get a chance to land this versatile superstar.
According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givoni, one NBA executive already regrets not setting his team up to draft the French phenom.

That’s a pretty telling statement in terms of what NBA officials think about the international superstar’s potential impact once he officially joins the league.
The consensus seems to be that Vembanayama is the real deal and will immediately become a franchise player for an NBA team.
Players in the past have been hyped in the same way before and have failed miserably to live up to the expectations.
There’s always a chance with Vembanayama, but as of right now, teams seem to be salivating at the prospect of drafting the 19-year-old out of France.
It will be interesting to see which team comes out on top in the lottery next month and whether other teams will be in play for the No. 1 overall pick by draft day on June 22.
