There has been some related news recently about ESPN being on the verge of laying off a number of employees, which will include sending some big-name media members packing.
These types of layoffs have happened more than once in the past, with some surprising names given their running papers, so it could be the same this time around as the sports giants try to save some money or cut heads in another. We do. Direction.
Although the list of those who will be cut has not been publicly released, one media personality has reportedly agreed to a new deal with ESPN that puts him on the safe list.
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, current NFL analyst and former Dallas Cowboys star Marcus Spears isn’t going anywhere after getting a lucrative deal to stay at ESPN.

It pains me to watch the truncated period, but cheers for the swag, the always thoughtful analysis and the endless battles with Stephen A. and Dan Orlovsky. Must watch TV.

The 40-year-old has made quite the impact since becoming an on-air personality for ESPN, as he is a fan favorite, which makes it not surprising that he would be retained rather than let go.
With Spears’ four-year deal, it will be interesting to see which analysts and on-air personalities will eventually be given the boot, and when that might happen.
Mina Kims remains unsigned by the network despite her popularity among fans, so her fate at ESPN continues to be up in the air, even as fans and allies support her.
