The New York Knicks have been one of the NBA’s most underrated feel-good stories this season.
Not many outside the Tri-State area expected them to have a real shot at making the playoffs, but they did exactly that on Sunday when they clinched a season-ending 118-109 win over the Washington Wizards. .

New York is fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 46-33 record, and it looks like that’s where they’ll finish the regular season.
Knicks fans are happy to see the NBA return for a “second season”.

They got upset by Cleveland in the first round

It looks like they will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs, a somewhat surprising team, which will mean a matchup with star guard Donovan Mitchell, a New York City area native.
But both of these fans think New York will be nothing more than playoff fodder for their first-round opponent.

The team was rumored to be in the running to land Mitchell via trade last summer, but had to settle for signing Jalen Brunson.
But Brunson has had a remarkable season, averaging 24.0 points and 6.2 assists per game while shooting 49.1 percent overall and 41.6 percent from 3-point range.
On Sunday, he led the Knicks with 27 points on 11-of-20 shooting and eight assists.
Even if the Knicks bow out in the first round of the playoffs, what they’ve done throughout the season could serve as a springboard to greater success in the years to come.
