I was years older today when I found out that Emmy Rossum was playing Tom Holland’s mother.
Obviously they’re both acting crowded room, A new Apple TV+ limited series drama executive produced by Tom Holland. Tom played Danny Sullivan, “a man who was arrested in 1979 after being involved in a shooting in New York City.” Amy will play his young mother, Candy.
But shameless The actor is only 36 years old.
And Tom just turned 27 a few days ago.
This means that there is less than 10 years left between the two. And while it sounds a bit unbelievable on paper – Amy wasn’t at all fazed by the impossible age difference.
in an interview with entertainment tonight, Amy talked about playing Tom’s “super young” mother. “When I read the script it made sense,” she said. “Candy is a super young mom, when she got pregnant at 16 she was almost a child in her own right. You see I’m between 25 and 35, which is actually younger than I am now.”
Amy did not focus on the small age difference because she “fell in love with the relationship and the closeness between mother and son and everything they’re grieving in later episodes.”
He particularly liked a scene with Zachary Gollinger, who plays a younger version of Tom’s character. “Our relationship was gorgeous, and so I knew everything we had that I lost in the scenes with Tom. [It] Was really fun,” she said.
It will be interesting to see how this dynamic plays out. The 10-episode limited series will release on June 9, 2023.
