Drake revealed why he is not married in an appearance on “The Really Good Podcast with Bobby Althoff” on July 20. Althoff, a rising TikTok star who disarms her podcast guests with her amazing sense of humor, had no problem asking the “Hotline Bling” rapper an intimate and silly question. This prompted Drake to share his honest thoughts about marriage and what he’s looking for in a partner.
When Drake was asked why he had never married, he replied, “I don’t know. It seems ancient or something. I think I eventually will. I don’t know, I don’t think I can give anybody what they’re looking for. Just consistency. I think my life, my work is my priority.” Althoff teased his guest by asking if he simply wanted to “sleep around”, to which he replied that he could not provide “stability” at this stage of his life. He said, “I don’t want to get married because I don’t want to let anybody down and I’m not Amish.”
Drake shared details about what he’s looking for in a partner, while also saying he’s unlikely to marry a fellow celebrity. He told Althoff, “I probably won’t marry someone famous.” He further added that famous people are not “that interesting”.
Instead, Drake is looking for someone who happens to be a true person – and maybe in cosplay? He explained, “I like someone who can be themselves.” “They’re not just like a carbon copy, like a person I’ve seen many times in my entire existence. I like someone with a sense of humor, you know? I like — I don’t know, like, cosplay.”
Althof then asked what the musician would like his future partner to wear, prompting Drake to clarify his comment. “No, I don’t need them [dress up] – If they’re interested in cosplay I’ll probably fuck with them more,” he said. “Not with me, just like usual.”
Althoff, after hearing her answer, said, “You’re even weirder than I thought.” Drake replied, “That’s certainly a fact. You have no idea, honey.”
