Disney+ Ahsoka series: Trailer, release date, cast

One of the latest Star Wars Disney+ series is on the way and it’s about a character many superfans already know and love: Ahsoka Tano. Rosario Dawson plays the former Jedi Padawan who was Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice during the Clone Wars. After what felt like years of waiting, the first teaser trailer for “Ahsoka” was finally released on April 7, showcasing what’s to come in the action-packed series — including lots of lightsaber fighting, of course. , the first look at the live-action version of the show’s villain, Thrawn, and a summer release date.

Ahsoka was first introduced in the 2008 animated film “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and fans followed her journey through subsequent “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” series before the show officially went on air. It ended with its seventh season in May 2020. Ahsoka made a brief appearance as an adult in the 2014 animated series “Star Wars Rebels”.

Dawson debuted as the live-action Ahsoka in the November 2020 episode of “The Mandalorian” and reprized the role in 2021’s “The Book of Boba Fett.” Her own series, “Ahsoka,” which was announced after that first appearance, would take place during the same era in the Star Wars timeline, roughly five years after the events of “Return of the Jedi.”

“Ahsoka” went into production in 2022 and Dawson appeared at a Star Wars event in May — with POPSUGAR on hand — to preview the series that same year. “It’s so exciting and an honor to bring this character to life and feel the energy of everyone who’s wanted to see her come to life,” she said during a panel. “As a fan, it’s been exciting to experience this and continue this story.”

Here’s everything we know about “Ahsoka” so far, from the trailer and cast to the plot, time frame and more.
