Wren Alexander Stephens, the son of Legend and Teigen, was born via surrogate on June 19, 2023. Teigen revealed the surprising news on June 28 in a touching Instagram post detailing her emotional feelings about growing her family again. “For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted four kids,” she began the announcement. “…after losing Jack, I didn’t think I’d be able to have another child on my own. To be honest, I personally blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear Smriti is surrounded by people who want to make sure I don’t have to go through that pain and loss again.”
Teigen explained that, in 2021, she and Legend have reached out to a surrogacy agency to ask “perhaps about having two tandem surrogates, each of whom will bring us a healthy baby boy or girl. Twins, kinda?!” And after performing an IVF transfer for Estee, she restarted the process for Wren. Although the first attempt at transfer was unsuccessful, Teigen said she was an “incredible, loving, compassionate surrogate”, later becoming pregnant with Alexandra Wren and giving birth to him.
“We want to say thank you for this incredible gift you’ve given us, Alexandra,” Teigen continued. “And we are very pleased to inform the world that here he is, whose name will be forever linked with yours, Wren Alexander Stephens.” She ended her message by writing, “Our hearts, and our home, are officially full. And to our Jack, we know both of his angelic kisses are from you.”
