Cardinals reinstate Tyler O’Neal from 60-day IL

st louis cardinals Outfielder Tyler O’Neal was reinstated from the 60-day injured list on Thursday.

O’Neal was in the team’s starting lineup for a Thursday night game against the Chicago Cubs, batting seventh and playing left field.

The sixth-year major league player has been sidelined since May due to back problems.

In the same move, Cardinals Designated right-hander Ryan Tepera for assignment. Outfielder Dylan Carlson is also expected to move into a reserve role with O’Neal’s return.

The 28-year-old O’Neal was batting .228 with two home runs and 12 runs batted in in 29 games before he was sidelined. He is a .250 hitter with 71 HR in six seasons of his career. Cardinals

The 35-year-old Tepera conceded two runs in his only two matches Cardinals and was 2–2 with a 7.59 ERA in 12 relief appearances. Cardinals and the Los Angeles Angels this season. He is 19–20 with a 3.62 ERA over nine seasons with five clubs, including the Toronto Blue Jays (2015–19).
