Brian Howe doesn’t just play a mom on TV anymore — she’s now one in real life, too. On June 18, the “Ginny & Georgia” star revealed on Instagram that she and husband Matt Ziering have welcomed their first child together.
Howe announced the news by sharing a photo of herself smiling in a hospital bed holding her newborn baby to her chest. She and Ziering haven’t shared the baby’s name yet. “My whole world just got a whole lot sweeter,” she captioned her post. “Smaller. Welcome my little love.”
The actor’s comments section was flooded with well wishes from his “Ginny & Georgia” family, which included his onscreen daughter Antonia Gentry. “Oh my gosh congratulations,” wrote Gentry. Sarah Weisglass, who plays Max on the show, said, “Sobbing. Congratulations Mama!!!” And Weisglas’s onscreen twin, Felix Mallard, said, “Congratulations to both of you!!!!!”
Even Diesel La Torraca, who plays Georgia’s young son Austin, commented. “Our littlest peach is here!!!!” He has written. “Love you momma well done!!!”
Howe first announced she was expecting in a March post on Instagram. The 34-year-old showed off her growing baby bump before heading to the Hugo Boss fashion show. “@boss show with my forever new +1,” she captioned the photo.
The actor and Ziering, who is a lawyer, were married in July 2021. While Howe keeps her family life private for the most part, she shared in a 2021 interview with Los Angeles Magazine how she met her husband. “We ran into each other three nights in a row at a couple bars in LA,” she revealed. Five years later, they were all set to get married when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020. The couple canceled their original wedding plans and got a dog (Bodie) before exchanging their “I dos” in 2021.
Now they’ve added another member to their growing family, and Howe (and her classmates) couldn’t be happier.
