Pretending is the best romance? After a seemingly surprising elimination in Season 44, many superfans are wondering: are Matt and Frannie still together? Survivor?
On episode seven of season 44, Frannie Marin won immunity for her team after breaking up with her boyfriend (?). Host Jeff Probst divided the remaining group into two teams and the person who lasted the longest would win immunity for their entire group, while the last remaining person from the other group would receive complete immunity. Frankie ends up as the eventual winner overall and leaves Matt vulnerable. The latter was voted off the island on Day 14. “I’m so proud of you for the win, and I don’t want you to blame yourself for what happened,” Matt said during his last minutes on the show.
But almost a year after filming the season, are Matt and Frannie still living it up together after Survivor? Read more below to find out whether love really exists or not.

Are Matt & Frannie Still Together From Survivor 2023? Yes! Matt and Frannie are still together. Matt spoke extensively with both Entertainment Weekly and Parade about his relationship with his on-again-off-again boyfriend-betrayed-boyfriend.
He spoke with great enthusiasm about his relationship with the parade. “Oh yes, Frankenship is riding the wind!” They said. “We’re sailing full speed ahead. We’re still dating. We’re still together. We’ve had Ethiopian food, we have road trips coming up. We’re going strong.
He also said that he was genuinely surprised by how quickly he and Frannie bonded. “Honestly, it completely caught me off guard, I had no idea. Its Survivor 101, ABC, you don’t get into a frickin’ showmanship! It’s dumb. And I knew that we both knew that. But I mean, it was two deep kissers; We couldn’t stay away from each other! The chemistry was instant. And so I went into the game, just wanting to experience whatever was going to happen. I didn’t want to force it in any way. I just wanted to have the whole thing. It is a once in a lifetime experience. I just want to enjoy every aspect of it. This was completely unexpected, and it caught me off guard. But in all honesty, it made my life and made everything so much richer for me.”
Though he talked about how he avoided competition in the name of love. “I can’t express enough how much you need someone you can trust, someone you feel super confident with, has your back. And I think Frankie and I have a Were for another. In another universe, we’ll eventually have to stab each other in the back. I’m sure some fireworks will go down. But I was thinking about it in a more endgame way and not sooner.
Almost a year after her exit from the show, she also talked about how they both reminisced their blossoming relationship. “To be honest there are so many little moments that were so cute and that makes me feel so sweet and cute. I was not sure if they would edit because there is so much to show in the show,” he said. “But we got Ernie the stick bug, who was like our baby, and the hand puppets when we were building the shelter. All these cute moments in the budding stages of our relationship, ie the world. And we got a montage! (laughs.) And I’m eating it. Give me more I want full Frankenship content.”

He talked about the play-by-play portion of his experience on the island and how unexpected the love was to Entertainment Weekly. “You prepare for this game, but you can never prepare for that, right? One of the things I told myself going out there was that whatever experience I had Just kind of had to hug. Go out there with an open mind and just allow myself to feel the things that I was feeling and express them and be myself, whoever I am in that moment.
After the episode aired, Matt still held his grudge about Fran and was unconditionally proud of her move and her victory in the challenge. “Anything can happen, and you want to put your best foot forward. I’m really proud of them that they won immunity and set the tone like that. I want to compete and win.” Doesn’t blame him at all. We’re all there because we’re competitive and we want Jeff to put that weird necklace on you. We all dream about it all the time.
He continued to call his current boyfriend a winner in everything he does, “I think from a strategy perspective, yes, we want to keep the pairing and if one of us wins immunity, you probably must step aside and keep the other one safe. But, at the same time, I can’t hold it against Frankie for wanting to compete. Come on, he beat Brandon! Crazy NFL player! A little girl from Minnesota did this! Knocked out the big guy who used to play on the Seahawks. Like, how cool? What a story.”
