No team in the NFL will get more attention heading into the 2023 NFL season than the new-look New York Jets following the recent acquisition of superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Unfortunately for the Jets, the New York franchise will get a lot of attention for good reasons and bad ones, as seen on Thursday after the league suspended defensive back Brandon Echols in the first game of the upcoming season.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pellicero, the league suspended Echols for one game, but the reason for his suspension remains a mystery as it was not disclosed to the public.

Although Echols is a fine player with two interceptions and 71 tackles over the last two seasons with the team, his absence should not prove costly for the Jets, as New York should be able to get by without him for a game.

What is interesting, however, is that the league would announce the suspension of a player, especially a player who plays in the biggest market in the country, for a team that will garner the most attention this season without any valid reason.

It’s doubtful that this suspension is going forward for no reason, as it was only a matter of time before the NFL announced why Echols would miss the first game of the 2023 campaign for the Jets.

For the Jets, it will be interesting to see how this team progresses and if there is more good news than bad coming out of the Big Apple this year.
