Vicki told the Boston Herald, “He texted me an hour before the wedding asking if he could come. I replied very bluntly, ‘Please don’t.’ They came anyway…I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the whole event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her to go as far as she could. Was like talking. He seemed to be looking right in front of me.”
However, Taylor’s spokeswoman Paula Erickson denied Viki’s claims. He added, “There is no truth to that. Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her very much for being there.”
But TodayKathie Lee Gifford, who is the bride’s step-grandmother, said, “Connor e-mailed [Vicki Kennedy] Or messaged her or something like that, like an hour ago and said – look, here’s the thing: she didn’t RSVP. So, he didn’t even know whether he was coming or not. He heard that he might. But he contacted her an hour before and basically said, ‘Can I bring my girlfriend?’ And… she said very nicely, ‘Please don’t come.’ You know. And, because – guess what? Well, then, they came over.” She also pointed out that Taylor probably didn’t know she wasn’t invited, but she and Connor went through when asked a second time.
Taylor herself told Rolling Stone, “I think that story was based on a huge misunderstanding, because I would never intentionally go to a place where I felt I wasn’t invited … and I would never invite anyone.” I don’t want to let you down.”
